Apply to Volunteer
St. Cuthbert’s is recruiting volunteers to support camp leaders with running the camp during the week of Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 20, 2020. Volunteers are needed to help with lunch and snack preparation as well as with supervision of children during crafts and activities.
Requirements to volunteer:
Attendance at the volunteer orientation session, to be held Saturday, February 8, 2020, 9am-12pm at St. Cuthbert’s.
Proof of a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check for any volunteer 18 years or older.
Adherence to “Leading with Care: A Policy for Ensuring a Climate of Safety for Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults in The Presbyterian Church of Canada,” to be reviewed in full at the volunteer orientation session.

Obtaining a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
If you have not done this before, or your latest report is more than five years old, you will need to apply for a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check report to be eligible to volunteer.
Make sure that you apply for the correct type of report: Vulnerable Sector Check. A copy of this form is available online here so you can review the information you will be asked to provide ahead of time.
The application can be done in person or online. Note that the maximum processing time is 30 days, so you should aim to make your application by Friday, February 14, 2020 at the latest in order to receive the result before camp start.
You will be mailed a paper copy of the result to your home address. Please scan and email a copy of this to the camp administrator (stcuthbertscamp@gmail.com) before the camp begins, or bring a paper copy with you on the first day of camp. More information about the process can be found on the Hamilton Police Services website here.
In-person application: Visit the Hamilton Police Services Central Station at 155 King Willian St. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. You will need to fill out the appropriate form, show acceptable identification (e.g. driver’s license, health card, passport), and pay the application fee ($25). Unfortunately St. Cuthbert’s cannot reimburse this cost.
